Why Auto Insurance Rates Go Up (Cincinnati, OH)
Hi guys, this is Damien Gilchrist, owner here at the DG Insurance Agency, where we have two locations, one in Cincinnati, Ohio, and one in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. And really what we're noticing is a lot of our customers keep asking why auto insurance rates keep increasing and keep going higher, and really it's 3 reasons. So the first reason. Um, it's really costing a lot more money as far as the parts go. So whereas in the past, if a small accident happens such as a fender bender, um, something small with like a bumper damage, you're talking maybe $800 to $1000 to repair a car, where now we're seeing cars coming closer to $40,000 5000 dollars to $6000 just to repair. You know, a small little bumper um that may have happened on I-75. Uh, the second reason, which is, you know, quite common, is the frequency has gone up. So unfortunately with all the distracted drivers with cell phones and all the other gadgets out there, you're seeing a lot more accidents on the road. So really, you know, as an insurance agent, we're only advising people to stay off their phones when it comes to driving. And then the third reason is the labor. It's costing more to, you know, pay mechanics and make sure that they go ahead and fix the car properly. Um, so with all those costs kind of built into claims, that's why auto insurance rates have gone up pretty dramatically.
